Flirty Thirty
This is the time in most women’s lives when rushing seems to be the only option. Your life is filled with a husband and children a job  Makeup Tips for women in their thirties
and more than likely, an array of tasks that seem never ending. Your beauty routine is merely a figment of your imagination and self  neglect creeps in slowly.

We'll, it doesn’t have to be this way. Sounds easier said than done. Prioritise, prioritise, prioritise, are those tasks really that important that they have to be done yesterday? I'll give you an example, the ironing basket is full to the brim, kids need clothes for school, hubby needs his shirts done for work and you, we'll, you probably will make do with what you have in your cupboard.

Stop and think, what is so wrong with ironing a few days clothing for the week and using the extra time it would take you to iron the entire basket to on your beauty routine. After all, you are number one and if number one doesn’t look and feel her best, then all else
will follow.

At this age you really need to make time for yourself. Your skin is starting to see fine lines and your makeup bag probably hasn’t seen a new addition in years other than what your best friend has given you.

Your skin needs to be kept well cleansed and hydrated which in turn will benefit your makeup application. Make time everyday for applying your makeup before you face the world, this will give you confidence and boost your self esteem. Wake up a half hour earlier every morning to do your hair and makeup.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

  • Your skin is probably still in good condition so you won't need much in the way of day makeup. Use a concealer that is slightly lighter than you foundation and apply to areas such as, blemishes, dark circles and other areas that you need extra coverage. Mineral powders are great for this as many of them are multi tasking.
  • Sweep on your foundation across the entire face area blending well, you can apply several coats until your desired coverage is achieved. Always choose a light weight foundation for this type of application. You can incorporate a setting powder at this stage allowing for a smooth base and airbrushed finish.
  • For the eyes, go natural, if you have a warm tone to your skin, opt for nudes or creams with a slight natural shimmer not glitter and for cool skin tones, soft subtle pinks and lilacs for warmth. Leave darker eyeshadow colours for the evening.
  • At this age, your brows should be kept well groomed, so if there are a few strays, pluck them! Brush your brows regularly and fill any gaps with a soft black or soft brown brow liner.
  • If you feel the need to apply an eye liner, then choose a soft black or brown to create a soft look. Mineral eyeshadows are great at achieving this and also come in many different shades. You can apply them as light or dark as you prefer, giving you total control.
  • Apply two coats of mascara in either soft black or brown to the upper lashes, don't overdo it as you want to create a natural, glowing complexion and heavier mascara is better left for an evening look. Try not to apply mascara to the bottom lashes.
  • Use a bronzer for an all over fresh glow, you can leave blush for the evening. Apply the bronzer to the cheeks, forehead and chin and softly down the nose area. Brush on an extra coat of bronzer to the cheek area for a more intense colour.
  • Use a lip liner that matches closely to your lipstick/gloss or use a clear liner to line the entire lip area. Opt for natural colours such as subtle pinks and barely there browns. A combination of lipstick and gloss can be used to create a pout. Apply lipstick in your colour choice and apply a matching or clear gloss to only the centre of the lips.

You’re good to go now and be confident.

Afterglow Cosmetics offer a wide selection of powders that are multi tasking and quick and easy to apply. Some of the Afterglow lipsticks also contain a slight natural shimmer ideal for day to evening application.
